THE ROLE

We have an opportunity for an experienced Underground Mining Engineer to join IGO in Senior role with exposure to the Alternate Manager position. The role will be based at our Cosmos Operation, 30km north of Leinster and will be an integral part of the development of the Odysseus mine. This position represents a fantastic opportunity for career development within IGO.

Reporting directly to the Underground Manager, and assisting with the supervision and coordination of the Planning, Production and Technical Services teams, you will be responsible for managing the daily production requirements and the long terms needs of the mine, as well as to assist UG Manager and GM in managing the overall site. This exciting project is seeing IGO install a head frame and winder for a 1.0km deep shaft. Major ancillary infrastructure includes a new paste plant, cooling plant and underground crushing system.

This is a full time, permanent role working a 8:6FIFO roster from Perth (or DIDO from surrounding areas). Other variations of this roster will be considered.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role, you will be a collaborative leader with a strong commitment to workplace safety. You will also have the following:

• An appropriate tertiary qualification
• A WA First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency
• Proficient in mine design software (we use Deswik but training can be provided if you only have experience with other packages)
• Valid ‘C’ class manual drivers licence
• National Police Clearance obtained within the last three months.
• Ideally, your tertiary qualifications and experience will be accompanied with high personal motivation, organisational skills and the ability to mentor, train, encourage and lead a dynamic team of professionals.
