THE ROLE
We are hiring! Due to recent promotions and transfers, we are seeking Geophysical Field Assistants to join our passionate Exploration team on our quest for discovery. This role will suit experienced Field Assistants wanting to join IGO and also those with labouring, trade or farming backgrounds who are keen to get their start in the industry. The most important qualities will be the ability to work as part of a team in remote environments and a love of the outdoors!
Reporting to the Leading Hand, you will be working in small crews of 3 – 4 people conducting Moving loop EM surveys across our remote tenement packages. We are offering 12-month fixed term contracts, an equal time 15:13 days only roster with a view to starting as soon as possible.
Primary accountabilities will include:
- Undertaking Moving loop EM and Down hole EM surveys;
- Assisting with camp logistics and management; including cooking, cleaning and ordering consumables;
- Routine maintenance of vehicles, generators and other equipment;
- Ongoing assessments of HSE risks and associated reporting; and
- Data entry and ensuring that all paperwork and filing is completed in an accurate and timely fashion.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
Together with an energetic, positive approach and passion for exploration, you will also have the following:
- Ability to work in remote locations on greenfields projects and a willingness to undertake campaign work with tent or caravan accommodation;
- Be safety focused with the drive to be part of a successful team supporting our company values;
- Moving Loop EM survey experience (desirable);
- A strong passion for mineral exploration and ore deposit discovery;
- Current valid certifications in First Aid, 4WD & UTV (desirable but not essential);
- HR/MR licence, Forklift, Backhoe/Loader ticket (desirable);
- Valid ‘C’ class manual drivers’ licence (essential); and
- National Police Clearance obtained within the last 2 months.
