THE ROLE
Exploration and discovery are core to the IGO DNA. Our diverse and highly technical exploration team are focussed on creating transformational value and sustainable growth for the Company and its shareholders through mineral deposit discovery and doing so in an environmentally responsible manner but also as leaders in this space.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Geologist who can bring their experience in Lithium to our small, close-knit team.
Reporting to the Exploration Manager, you will be accountable for:
- Generating new projects to contribute to a robust exploration project pipeline;
- Effectively plan, schedule and budget exploration programs and fieldwork activities;
- Make technical decisions about exploration programs and results;
- Provide technical advice and assistance to other projects/operations as required;
- Preparation of reports, maps, sections and presentation materials;
- Interpret and validate geological, geochemical and geophysical data to update geological models to assist in target generation;
- Assist with the evaluation of third-party properties and opportunities as required; and
- Contribute to managing required exploration compliance and government reporting for area of responsibility.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this role, you will be a collaborative team player with a strong commitment to workplace safety. You will also have the following:
- A BSc. Hons degree or higher in Geology/Geosciences with experience in a similar role;
- Substantial experience in Lithium and base metals exploration;
- Proficiency with exploration & mining software such as Micromine and Leapfrog;
- Safety focused with the drive to be part of a successful team and willingness to support company values;
- Valid ‘C’ class manual drivers licence; and
- National Police Clearance obtained within the last two months.
