THE ROLE

IGO is a growing mining and exploration company that has been listed on the ASX for over 20 years. We have three underground operations, a 170-person corporate office and a large exploration team working across Australia. A critical part of our success is our ability to collect, integrate, store, and retrieve quality geological data.

As an ASX100 company that has seen significant growth in operations and exploration projects, we are continuing to build our in-house capability and are seeking applications for the position of Geological Database Manager. In this role you will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the industry’s leading experts in acQuire and GIS.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain geological databases to ensure the efficient capture, storage, and retrieval of exploration and mining data as well as ensuring data quality, accuracy, and security;
• Oversee the migration, collection and accurate data entry of geological data from various sources, including field surveys, drilling, sampling, and laboratory analysis;
• Work closely with other teams, such as technical services, exploration, production, and engineering, to ensure geological data is integrated into their respective workflows;
• Provide training and support to other employees, conducting workshops or one-on-one training sessions both from the office and in the field; and
• Review and improve the geological database to ensure that it meets the changing needs of our company.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

In addition to having a strong commitment to workplace safety, you will also bring the following:

• Tertiary qualifications in Geology will be highly regarded;
• Significant experience in geological database management in both mining and exploration settings;
• Experience in exploration, mine site operations both open pit and underground;
• Competency in digital database management and software (e.g., acQuire Technology Solutions, DataShed, Geobank Mobile, Microsoft Access, Excel and Word);
• Competency in SQL data administration;
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management across a wide audience;
• Ability to mentor and train team members to improve data collection and technical capability;
• Valid ‘C’ Class Manual Driver’s Licence; and
• National Police Clearance obtained within the last 2 months.
