YOUR OPPORTUNITY
Exciting things are happening at IGO, including the development of the Odysseus Underground Nickel Mine at our Cosmos Nickel Operation based near Leinster in Western Australia. Once in production, Odysseus will deliver high quality nickel concentrates into the global nickel market which is growing rapidly driven by demand for nickel rich lithium-ion batteries.
You'll have the opportunity to flex your leadership muscles and lead a team of mine geologists and underground geology technicians to deliver all key mine geology functions aligned with our goals and strategic objectives.
This is your opportunity to join the operation in the early phases and make a difference in the success of Cosmos. Plus, it’s a rare chance to be part of the commissioning process of a mine and have input into the early operations.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
We are on the hunt for an experienced and collaborative leader with:
- Tertiary qualifications in Geology;
- Demonstrated experience leading a high performing teams;
- Significant experience in a hard rock underground mining environment, preferably with Nickel Sulfide experience;
- Strong modelling and interpretation skills;
- Solid interpretation of datasets and reconciliation exposure;
- Exposure to a range of grade control systems and processes;
- QAQC reporting;
- Good understanding of diamond drilling practices and core processing systems; and,
- Experience in resource estimation exposure, contractor management and Datamine, Leapfrog and or Deswik software (desirable).
