THE ROLE

IGO is an ASX100 clean energy mining and exploration company that has seen significant growth in operations and exploration projects in recent years. We currently have three underground Nickel operations, a 170-person corporate office and a large exploration team working across Australia. We also have a significant indirect interest in the Greenbushes lithium mine through a joint venture.

We are currently seeking applications from experienced Purchasing Officers with mining industry experience and a solid understanding of supply chain and warehousing operations. Reporting to the Senior Purchasing Officer you will support our sites by ensuring an adequate and uninterrupted level of stock is maintained through monitoring, preparation of purchase orders, negotiating supply sources, and tracking of purchasing activity.

Some key accountabilities will include:

  • Raise, monitor, and convert purchase orders to assist end users meeting their purchasing requirements;
  • Scrutinise purchase request requisitions before committing to purchase in relation to price, quality, delivery, customer requirements, and market trends;
  • Ensure the alignment of purchase request requisitions with IGO policies, to ensure funds are expended appropriately and ethically, and to achieve value for money;
  • Build, sustain, and strategise relationships with internal and external stakeholders to improve customer service and reduce supply risk;
  • Investigate and resolve under/over/damaged supply of goods with suppliers;
  • Ensure adequate stock levels and the expediting of orders for scheduled maintenance shutdowns;
  • Maintain clear lines of communication with suppliers and stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and ensure the collective achievement of business goals; and
  • Promptly communicate emerging or unresolved issues to the Senior Purchasing Officer.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant qualifications in Business Procurement or Supply Chain Operations;
  • Substantial experience in a similar role within the mining or resources sector;
  • Comprehensive understanding of Warehouse functions;
  • High degree of computer literacy including familiarity with the Netstock and Pronto (or similar);
  • An analytical mindset, solid decision making and problem solving capability;
  • Valid ‘C’ class manual drivers licence; and
  • National Police Clearance obtained within the last two months.
