THE ROLE
IGO is an ASX100 clean energy mining and exploration company that has seen significant growth in operations and exploration projects in recent years. We have three underground Nickel operations, a 170-person corporate office and a large exploration team working across Australia. We also have a significant indirect interest in the Greenbushes lithium mine through a joint venture. IGO is continuing to build capability within our teams and our newly formed Performance & Capability function is seeking applications for a Learning Specialist. This role reports to the Manager Capability and will contribute to both strategic and tactical work to lift the collective capabilities of our organisation.
Responsibilities include:
- Work with the Manager Capability to implement and bring to life IGO’s learning strategy and frameworks (including career frameworks);
- Engage with the workforce and organisational data to understand challenges and opportunities, inclusive of understanding shifting skill needs and connect learning to business priorities;
- Develop best-fit learning solutions, both technical and non-technical that ensures great employee learning experience, is dynamic and can be delivered to those who need it at speed and scale;
- Manage and ensure appropriate curricula and resources are in place to meet business requirements;
- Work with the broader Talent and Operational People & Culture teams on integrating activity to optimise efficiency and value for the business; and
- Investigate emerging learning technologies to deliver contemporary learning experiences whilst co-designing learning options including experiences and exposure, outside of formal learning
About You:
- You are focussed on value creation and enabling performance;
- Capably engage and connect with a diverse stakeholder audience to understand challenges and opportunities;
- Love data and soak it up from a range of sources to better understand the landscape and skills within the organisation. You also understand the need for and use of advanced analytics;
- Can interpret needs and design solutions with a focus on human centred design;
- Appreciate that learning happens all the time and isn’t a stand-alone event and can advise on how to insert learning directly into the flow of work;
- Understand the value of follow up and think broadly about the levers available to you to support engagement, adoption and capability uplift; and
- Are curious about emerging learning technologies, the future of work and non-traditional learning channels.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
An Ideal Background:
- Relevant qualifications including Cert IV Training and Assessment (desirable);
- You understand the People & Capability function holistically and may have worked across different streams e.g. talent, operational HR, L&D/OD, either in house or in a consulting environment;
- Have a strong understanding of and experience with learning theory, processes, systems and design of learning solutions;
- Good knowledge and application of existing and emerging learning technologies and understand the importance of their role in connecting employees to learning experiences;
- Are proficient with systems (SAP SuccessFactors advantageous) and learning technology. You can use and build learning using a range of applications / platforms;
- You have a good grip of change, project management and communications;
- May have worked in mining (or not!) Ideally, you have experience working in a couple of different industry sectors; and
- National Police Clearance obtained within the last two months.
