THE ROLE
We are seeking 2 Camp Cooks to join our Fraser Range Exploration Team. These are autonomous roles working back-to-back in a permanent exploration camp, cooking for up to 14 people daily. Your main responsibilities will be to organise and run the camp which will involve all cooking, ordering and stock-taking, cleaning, laundry and general camp maintenance. This position will be offered on a 1-year, fixed term contract, working on a 15:13 days only roster, FIFO from Perth.
- Organising and running a remote camp, including food preparation, cooking duties and camp maintenance;
- Cleaning of accommodation, ablution and kitchen including laundering camp linen;
- Ensure all meals are delivered on time and meet health, hygiene and quality standards;
- Effective communication with all team members;
- Routine inspections of vehicles, generators, and other equipment; and
- Ordering food, consumables, equipment as required.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
Reporting to the Senior Field Assistant you will need to bring a positive attitude and an unwavering commitment to safety. You will also need the following:
- Trade certificate and commercial cooking experience;
- Demonstrated experience in a similar field-based exploration role;
- Ability to work in a small team environment;
- Excellent communication and customer service skills;
- Food Handling certificate;
- Current valid certifications in Remote Area First Aid, 4WD & UTV (desirable);
- High Risk Work Licences (Forklift, Crane), desirable;
- Current valid MR driver’s licence, desirable; and
- National Police Clearance obtained within the last 2 months.
