Your Opportunity

IGO is a values-based mining and exploration company with a purpose of Making a Difference. We are currently searching for an experienced Mine Control Operator to join our team at our underground Nova operation. Reporting to the Superintendent Production, you will be working closely with our mining contractor to ensure clear communication between their Underground Mining team and our Technical Services Department.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Accurate recording and documenting activities within the mine including all personnel and equipment activities, status and material movements;
  • Assisting supervisors in dispatching personnel and equipment in the most efficient way;
  • Monitoring fixed plant facilities within the mine and assisting to manage any faults;
  • Act as first point of contact in the event of an emergency and escalate as required;
  • Maintaining accurate records of safety signage;
  • Monitor safety equipment and sensors and escalate as required; and
  • Liaise with underground operations and technical services personnel to develop the best plans for the mine.

Your Experience

Our ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Well-established experience in a similar role, ideally with exposure underground mining;
  • Demonstrated solid in-depth understanding of operational underground mining environment;
  • Excellent computer skills inclusive of high level of competency using mining industry software, preferably with exposure to Pitram;
  • A strong focus and commitment to safety;
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated resilience and an ability to work under pressure;
  • Valid ‘C’ class manual drivers’ licence, and
  • National Police Clearance obtained within the last two months.
