Your Opportunity

As Principal Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping IGO’s strategic future. You’ll identify, analyse and advise on strategic, commercial and financial considerations relating to asset acquisitions, divestments and major capital developments that enhance IGO’s position in lithium, copper, and nickel. This is a high-impact role focused on leading internal and external teams to execute transactions that create long-term shareholder value.

What You’ll Do

• Identify, screen and assess strategic, M&A and other special situation opportunities;
• Provide strategic insights, market analysis and bespoke advisory services to senior leadership and, as necessary, the Board;
• Project manage transaction processes including valuation, due diligence, negotiations, and execution of agreements;
• Develop and maintain relationships across the global investment community and mining industry;
• Coach and develop commercial acumen within the team; and
• Drive a safe and inclusive work environment.

What You’ll Bring

We are ideally seeking candidates who meet most of the following;

• Tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance or related discipline;
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role in mining / resources or advising clients in those industries;
• Profound knowledge of valuation methods and transaction related documentation;
• Proven ability to deliver successful outcomes with multi-disciplinary teams;
• Highly developed communication, project management, influencing and negotiation skills;
• Strong attention to detail and advanced computer literacy;
• General understanding of exploration, mining and processing;
• Professional body membership;
• Experience working internationally and exposure to cross-border transactions; and
• A recent National Police Clearance (within 2 months).
