The Global Head of Workplace Technology is a strategic role that must lead and support a small, global workplace technology group. The role must ensure our people can work effectively and efficiently by providing an environment that is frictionless and collaborative. The role is a hands-on, high-impact role that focuses on people and technology leadership in delivering a simple, modern and reliable set of tools allowing our people to focus on what's important.
Some of the great stuff you will be doing:
Building and sustaining an engineering culture in Iress, ensuring high-quality technical outcomes get delivered with a focus on enabling a global, frictionless work environment
Inspire through coaching, mentoring and leading workplace technology teams to ensure global alignment and consistency
Providing insights and feedback to other teams to deliver value improvement across Iress
Promoting and communicating the technology vision and strategy by engaging with teams and people to increase the understanding of outcomes required. Anticipating changing business and client needs and leading the function to realign priorities and people accordingly
Continuously promote Iress as a leading global technology company and enhance the profile of Iress’ technology externally
In conjunction with other technology teams, lead and execute a continuous improvement in how people work within and across global and regional teams
What would be the ideal experience for you to have:
Understands and has experience leading teams and work that leverages cloud-based infrastructure and services as a foundation for the delivery of quality software and solutions, and has this experience in a company with a strong technical focus
Can motivate and inspire in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
A growth mindset and excitement about tackling the next challenge with a team
Demonstrated ability to negotiate and understand different types of technology licensing approaches, risks and issues within contracts
Has a hands-on and entrepreneurial spirit and style. Enjoys becoming personally involved in all elements of leading the team, while ensuring and promoting team freedom and autonomy to achieve goals and outcomes
Experience in enterprise architecture - can determine and apply appropriate patterns to solve broad and complex domain and technical challenges, and in selecting suitable technologies for implementation. Can lead implementations, and has expert knowledge across software engineering, infrastructure and release engineering
