As a Data Engineer within our Business Intelligence Team, your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and maintain robust data infrastructure and architecture to support the organisation's business intelligence and analytics initiatives. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the availability, integrity, and efficiency of data for informed decision-making. The role requires a deep understanding of data systems, ETL processes, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights.
Please note this role is a 12 month fixed-term contract.
Some of the awesome things you’ll be involved with:
Help manage and maintain the organisation's BI data platform to ensure its stability, reliability, and scalability.
Develop and maintain Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to move and transform data from diverse sources into our data lakehouse.
Ensure the reliability and performance of ETL workflows, troubleshooting and optimizing as needed.
Integrate disparate data sources to provide a unified view for reporting and analytics purposes.
Implement data quality checks and validations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data.
Work closely with business data analysts and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data integration requirements and implement solutions accordingly.
Collaborate with other data teams to ensure seamless integration of data engineering solutions.
What you will bring:
Strong proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and database management systems.
High proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
Understanding of CI/CD DevOps approach to implement data solutions (experience with Teraform is desirable).
Intermediate knowledge and understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Experience with cloud data warehouse/lakehouse platforms (e.g.Databricks, Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery).
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
Demonstrated commitment to staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering.
Able to work well under pressure and at speed, focused on delivering business value.
Experience with Jira and an agile working environment.
