About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our Finance team, reporting to the Financial Controller. This hybrid role is based in Melbourne, with flexible hyrbrid working arrangements.
As our Business Analyst, you will:
Make a difference:- By delivering timely, accurate insights that strengthen revenue forecasting, pricing decisions, and margin performance.
Innovate and solve problems:- Through data modelling, price elasticity analysis, BI insights, and process improvement.
Collaborate:- Closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, IT Applications, Strategic Sourcing and Finance teams to enhance reporting and support business planning.
Drive continuous improvement:- By simplifying reporting processes and contributing to strategic projects, including annual planning, capex reviews, and business case development.
What You’ll Do
- Provide clear analysis of sales volumes, pricing, margins and trends
- Align BI and sales reporting with General Ledger/P&L
- Support monthly reporting, management packs and forecasting
- Conduct price modelling and promotional impact assessments
- Partner with MRD and Sourcing to drive accurate inventory‑related outlooks
- Contribute insights to CBI/NPD business cases
- Streamline and simplify sales and margin reporting
What You’ll Bring
- CA or CPA (completed or in progress preferred)
- Big 4 trained or 3 years experience in an analytical role in a commercial organisation
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Cognos and/or Power BI advantageous
- Strong data analysis and business modelling capability
- Experience preparing forecasts, annual plans or similar
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders
- A natural 80/20 mindset — able to prioritise, simplify and focus on what matters
