About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an pricing specialist to join us at a time when the energy system is undergoing a fundamental transformation.
You will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing medium and long-term pricing strategy for Jemena Gas Networks (JGN), Australia's largest gas network with over 1.4 million customers in NSW.
The primary focus of this role is to help steer the development and coordination of all pricing aspects of JGN's pivotal 2025-30 Business Plan. You will navigate uncertainty and identify and assess pricing options that support a renewable gas future. The role encompasses the initial strategy development, stakeholder and consumer engagement, provision of strategic advice and the production of key elements of the Business Plan.
This is a fulltime, permanent role and has multiple flexible working arrangements to suit you.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Identify regulatory and commercial risks and develop and recommend strategies to respond to these risks that seek to optimise outcomes
- Think deeply and laterally with a view to solving problems
- Apply a customer lens to pricing strategy development
- Prepare robust, well developed and influential submissions on pricing issues, including where necessary coordinating and drawing on the expertise of relevant internal and external resources
- Lead and support the development of economic analysis, modelling, advice and submissions as an input to the JGN pricing strategy, including and briefing papers and presentations for senior management and drafting submissions
- Lead delivery of customer engagement activities in relation to JGN pricing
- Become a recognised internal thought-leader on pricing and commercial strategy while also appreciating the implications of the regulatory framework.
About you:
- You will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills who is already, or perhaps looking to be, a thought-leader on pricing and commercial strategy.
- With a passion for engaging on complex, challenging issues which cut across core questions on intergenerational equity and fairness, you will have demonstrable experience of leading projects amongst uncertainty to deliver tangible outcomes.
- You will have demonstrable understanding of regulated asset pricing, preferably through direct involvement with a regulated business, government body, consultancy or community/advocacy organisation.
- You track record includes undertaking economic analysis & modelling, providing advice to senior management and making the complex simple.
