Here's an overview of our role:
Our Risk & Assurance Specialist provides technical leadership and accountability in risk and compliance management for asset process safety systems.
The role works across the end to end Asset Management Processes, predominantly those related to our gas distribution assets, working with both Jemena and Services & Projects (Zinfra) to provide a consistent and integrated asset specific risk and compliance framework.
The role supports the maintenance of effective working relationships with government bodies, technical regulators and other external stakeholders.
Your role will cover the following:
The purpose of the Risk and Assurance Specialist is to :
- Provide guidance and direction on safety critical issues and assessing risk associated with the design, construction, operation and maintenance through the development of associated technical policies, standards and processes.
- Facilitate risk identification, analysis, evaluation and documentation within the business in a manner consistent with corporate risk policies and procedures and asset specific risk frameworks.
- Develop, analyse, evaluate and report on controls in order to manage risk to an acceptable level
- Facilitate the external audit program for the safety management system , including the engagement of auditors, engagement of technical regulators and coordination of internal resources.
- Undertake asset-related investigations to analyse potential weaknesses in the safety management systems to assist the business to understand the issues and identify effective controls
- Monitor, report and analyse Jemena's compliance with all applicable Australian Standards, legislative, regulatory or industry specific compliance obligations.
- Use expertise to improve the efficiency of compliance systems, policies and procedures in order to reduce cost and complexity.
A little about you:
- Tertiary degree or equivalent in engineering, risk, law, commercial or other discipline (essential)
- Engineering qualifications entitling membership of Engineers Australia (Engineer - essential) or equivalent for other disciplines
- Highly developed knowledge in management systems including ISO 31000 Risk Management, ISO 19011 Auditing of Management Systems and ISO 19600 Compliance Management. , Working knowledge of AS 2885 Pipelines - Gas and liquid petroleum series and AS 4645 Gas Network Systems Distribution Networks series (as applicable), ISO 55,001 Asset Management System is highly desirable
- Experience in a safety critical industry including credibility with safety regulators (essential)
- Extensive understanding of the technical regulatory environment. (essential)
- Significant experience in the utilities sector of the Australian energy market (essential)
- Strategic, methodical, logical and detail-oriented.
