Here's an overview of our role:
As the Commercial Operations Adviser, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all of the day to day commercial and operational aspects to comply with the underlying gas contracts (GTA,OBA, Connection Agreements) for the Jemena Gas Markets Portfolio.
This role provides continuous coverage throughout the gas day, and is the primary point of contact on issues that are commercial and operational in nature. Some of the tasks associated include metering and data reconciliation, scheduling of the pipelines, managing billing and maintenance notifications for our customers.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Administration and implementation of new or amended contracts.
- Coordinate day-to-day data reconciliation, gas allocations and customer reporting.
- Monitor flows, pressures and imbalances on pipelines and processing facilities to ensure safe and effective operation of the pipeline.
- Identify and investigate gas data discrepancies with a long-term view of resolving these issues.
- Provide commercial support to internal stakeholders (such as the Control Room, Engineering, Field Operations and Finance) to ensure the effective management of Jemena’s Gas Markets assets.
- Participate in a roster that consist of shifts occurring during and after-business hours and provide cover for other team members.
A little about you:
- Tertiary qualification in business, information systems, commercial discipline or significant trade experience in a related field.
- Exposure to and an understanding of managing/administrating contracts.
- Understanding of energy markets and experience in energy operations, marketing, contract administration, financial administration, measurement or accounting in the energy industry is desirable.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Trading and/or Gas and Energy industry experience desirable.
- Data analysis experience, including the ability to prepare and present data.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong computer literacy including advanced MS Excel skills. Knowledge of database query software such as SQL desirable but not essential.
