Description
Koala’s mission is: Better furniture experiences, designed with the World in mind. Combining customer-centric products, a world-class technology and fulfillment platform, incredible customer service and social good; we are changing the way people buy and enjoy furniture to create happier, healthier habitats.
Why we have this role @ Koala
Koala has opened its first product recovery and factory outlet in Campbelltown which includes a store component where we find new homes for our end of line and returned products. We’re passionate about sustainability and we want to ensure we are doing good for the planet and our people.
This newly created role will be a valuable contributor in the next phase of opportunities through Koala Second Home. In a Koala first, we are kicking off our very own delivery and collection services to encapsulate the iconic ‘No Worries’ Koala experience for our returned products.
For this role, you’ll need to have an always-on, innovative and agile mindset as we identify processes to streamline the experience, whilst ensuring we do whatever we can to minimize our negative impact on the planet while maximizing the positive impact we can have on our customers.
What key responsibilities does this role have @ Koala?
- Koala Second Home is a small but mighty team and we share our workloads fairly.
- Delivering Koala Second Home purchases to customers who opt for this service, including assembly and product placement within the customer’s home
- Collecting returned products with care, and bringing them back to our warehouse to undergo the rehoming process
- Maintaining the utmost care and responsibility for OH&S, manual handling requirements and compliance with NSW road laws
- Supporting Koala’s journey in circularity by recovering returned products to their best possible state. This may include supplying and installing replacement parts, warranty repairs, disassembly and reassembly of products on the fly. The goal is to do everything we can to increase the lifespan of the product..
- Be comfortable with forklift and pallet jack use. Loading and unloading pallets using the correct safety guidelines, manual handling and use of power tools and non-powered tools
- Continually focus on improving the return product processes to increase efficiency and overall recovery rate of returned products
- Maintain a high standard of hygiene and presentation, health & safety and housekeeping.
- Occasionally support warehouse operations as required by the team
- Drive sustainable outcomes that are both good for planet and people (in fact, this is embedded as a natural part of working at Koala Second Home)
- Take pride in building relationships with stakeholders such as other Koala team members, customers, contractors, suppliers and other drivers
Unlike traditional driver roles you will always be working with another team member whilst on the road. NO MORE ONE PERSON LIFTS!
