About Us
At Komatsu Australia you’ll be part of an inclusive culture where all our people thrive, reflected in our purpose: creating value together. We encourage people with diverse backgrounds to apply for this role.
The Opportunity
Komatsu is one of the world's leading manufacturers and suppliers of construction, mining and industrial equipment, with a proud history of innovation, quality and supporting the industries that keep Australia moving. But it's our people who make the difference. We invest in their development, encourage new ideas and offer genuine opportunities to build long-term careers.
Great service starts with great people, and at Komatsu, we know the difference a strong leader can make.
We're looking for a Service Supervisor to join our Gladstone team, bringing together technical knowledge, a genuine passion for people and a commitment to delivering great outcomes for our customers.
This is a people leadership and operational management role, rather than a hands-on technical position. You’ll oversee approximately 32 team members across Workshop and Field Service, with four Leading Hands reporting directly to you. Your focus will be on scheduling, coaching and developing people, managing WIP, forecasting and reporting on productivity and utilisation, and supporting customers when issues need escalation.
What We're Looking For
- Relevant mechanical trade qualification, including mechanical fitting
- Experience supervising, leading or coordinating people in a technical or trades-based environment
- Background in workshop, field service, fleet maintenance or similar service operations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coach, support and develop others
- Understanding of workflow, WIP, productivity and operational performance
- A customer-focused approach with strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship and continuous improvement
Your experience doesn't necessarily need to come from mining or construction equipment. We're interested in hearing from people with backgrounds in heavy vehicle, agriculture, road transport, automotive and other technical service environments.
Whether you're an established supervisor looking for a new challenge or an experienced tradesperson who has taken on leadership responsibilities, we'd welcome the opportunity to hear from you.
