About Us

At Komatsu Australia you’ll be part of an inclusive culture where all our people thrive, reflected in our purpose: creating value together. We encourage people with diverse backgrounds to apply for this role.

The Opportunity

Komatsu is a global original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and a leading name in construction, mining and earthmoving equipment. Across Australia, we support customers with world-class machinery, technology, parts and service solutions, backed by the expertise and resources of a global business.
Our people play a vital role in keeping essential industries moving, and we are committed to safety, innovation, strong customer partnerships and creating value together.

We are seeking a Service Manager to lead our Gladstone Service Department. This is a key operational leadership role, responsible for people, safety, service delivery and the commercial performance of a busy operation spanning workshop, field and embedded services.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will manage budgets, profitability, WIP, quoting and warranty processes while building long-term customer relationships. You will also visit key customers across the region and help identify new service growth opportunities.

Role Located: Gladstone, QLD | Monday to Friday, approximately 7:00am – 4:00pm

What we are looking for

  • You are an experienced Service Manager or operational leader with a strong understanding of service delivery in a dealership, OEM or equipment-focused business. Experience across mining, heavy equipment, automotive or agricultural machinery environments will be considered.
  • You will bring proven people leadership, a strong safety mindset and the commercial confidence to manage budgets, costs, revenue and profitability.
  • You will be comfortable overseeing WIP, quotations, warranty and service productivity, building trusted relationships with customers, coaching leaders and driving continuous improvement.
  • This is a leadership and business management position rather than a hands-on technical role; a trade qualification is not essential.

Why work for us!

Komatsu benefits:

  • Families Policy: 16 weeks of paid primary carer parental leave, 4 weeks of secondary carer leave, plus many more family friendly benefits.
  • Financial: Income Protection Insurance and Death & Diability Insurance provided through our company superannuation fund ; Novated Leasing options available.

  • Health: Corporate discount with Bupa, Total Wellbeing Solution with CU Health
  • Travel: Discounts with Avis, Qantas, Crown, IHG and travel agents.
  • Yearly Bonus: Potential to receive a yearly bonus.
  • Referral Program: $3000 referral payment for referring a successful new employee to Komatsu.
