Reporting directly to the Regional General Manager, you will collaborate with a range of stakeholders from the ground up to effectively manage HSE. You’ll delve deep into regional data to identify emerging issues, develop an annual regional HSE improvement strategic plan, and roll out on-the-ground training to our employees that supports a reduction of hazards and risks to as low as reasonably practicable. Your experience in Risk assessment, risk management, incident investigation, workers compensation and injury management will unite in this role.
Experience in operational roles within the heavy machinery industry is a strong advantage for the Regional HSE Manager position at Komatsu. This role is offered Full-Time Monday - Friday and requires frequent travel to regional branches within the NSW region.
Location: Located at our Komatsu Head Office in Fairfield, NSW. We offer Free on-site parking, have a fantastic private cafe and plenty of coffee machines fully stocked with quality beans!
Renumeration: Competitive salary + Super + Bonus + Car + Phone and Laptop
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic regional HSE improvement plan aligned with national strategy
- Collaborate closely with National HSE Managers to drive key strategic initiatives
- Ensure compliance with safety training requirements by conducting monthly safety training sessions
- Manage and maintain a regional risk register to identify and mitigate hazards
- Closely collaborate with the national team on deployment of ISO45001 documentation to all regional sites, deliver training and uphold accountability
- Provide strong leadership and guidance on Komatsu's HSE policies and Golden Rules
- Mentor and coach departmental employees to foster a culture of safety and compliance
- Generate and present monthly safety reports, offering actionable insights and solutions
- Oversee workers' compensation claims and lead injury management efforts to ensure a successful return to work for injured employees

Your Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in workplace health and safety
- Tertiary qualification in HSE preferred
- High level knowledge of Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation claims management
- Strong knowledge of OHS and Environmental legislation
- Ability to control, administer and maintain safety Management & Environmental Systems
- High level organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Proactive in internal and external customer service/satisfaction
- Advanced Microsoft Suite proficiency
- Passionate about HSE, continuous improvement and driving change
- Motivated to engage teams and cultivate safety culture
