About the role
Our Engineering and Program Services team are looking for a Director, Engineering Management, with particular skills in leading teams successfully and collaborating effectively across program wide, multi-disciplined engineering teams. This award-winning team are seeking a professional for this newly created role to assist the Director, Engineering by focusing on communications with the program alliances and improving the flow of information back and forth.
As the Director, Engineering Management you will be undertaking a crucial role, providing overall leadership, coordination, and management of engineering deliverables.
On a day-to-day basis, you will find yourself:
Engaging with high level engineering professionals in each of the five alliances, ensuring open and consistent communications between teams.
Challenging information when required and making decisions on an evidence-based basis.
Capturing, analysing and reporting of project metrics leading to a better understanding of current performance and the anticipated future state of the program of works.
This is a three (3) year fixed term position, paying a salary between $175,731 and $238,997 plus superannuation with hybrid working arrangement (a mix of office and home/remote based working). The office you will be working from is in the Melbourne CBD and you will also have the option to access flexible working arrangements if you need them – many LXRP employees work flexibly.
About you
You are someone that is passionate about your contribution and likes to own the role you perform. You will be comfortable thinking of the big picture whilst processing some of the detail. You will be able to assess integration and impacts and when to escalate problems and when not to. You might currently be a professional engineer (or willing to obtain this status) and be working in a senior engineering role in the engineering / construction sector. Or you may have transferrable skills and qualification that you think we should know about.
Let’s get technical – what attributes do we expect you to have?
- Understanding of railway and roads, design and construction is highly regarded, especially in the context of a major multi-disciplinary program of works.
- Experience of engaging at a strategic level with project stakeholders.
- Capacity to identify technical issues and be able to undertake technical investigations and provide suitable recommendations and reports with appropriate resolutions.
- Proven capability in the effective leadership of high performing teams in a program engineering / management capacity.
