About the role
Working within our Safety Team, the Senior Safety Advisor is responsible for taking appropriate action for urgent safety matters and utilising specialist knowledge of safety procedures on major construction projects to influence a safe working environment, both on and off project sites.
The role requires you to attend weekly site visits at our projects across metropolitan Melbourne.
On a day-to-day basis, you will find yourself:
- Collaborating with contractors and undertake regular safety monitoring activities in support of safety staff allocated to work packages to verify compliance / investigate concerns / conduct due diligence reviews when required.
- Providing expert advice, support and coaching to project staff across all aspects of health and safety, including on-site safety requirements.
- Preparing technical briefing documents for meetings and inclusion in reports and prepare other specialist subject matter reports / papers as required.
- Liaising with Emergency services authorities and ensuring a coordinated and consistent approach to communications.
Our Safety team are a fun and dynamic bunch, they’re passionate about safety and are continually pushing the envelope and innovating the way they delivery safety programs and initiatives. They won a national safety award last year for their outstanding rail safety training package!
At LXRP we embrace and encourage flexibility, as such, this role will be performed in a hybrid capacity, a mix of office, home and onsite. Our office is based in the Melbourne CBD, and the projects you’ll be visiting each week are located across metropolitan Melbourne.
This is a 3-year fixed term position, paying a salary between $130,673 - $174,869 + superannuation.
About you
You are a highly organised safety professional who is a stickler for detail and accuracy! You are motivated to apply your knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and Safety Regulations to continuously improve the safety of our organisation and people.
