About the role
We are seeking a Strategic Commercial Manager to join the team. The role is responsible for developing and implementing a range of activities to support the commercial function across VIDA Rail. A key focus of the role will be to identify opportunities to ensure consistent and streamlined commercial activities across VIDA Rail.
In the role you will:
- Provide commercial and contractual advice to the VIDA Rail project teams on procurement strategies, commercial frameworks, approvals requirements and controls.
- Assess and distil large amounts of data into brief, cohesive reports.
- Use data to develop and implement consistent commercial and contract management processes and procedures across VIDA Rail construction projects.
- Assist with driving a consistent and streamlined approach for all commercial management and contract administration of VIDA Rail construction agreements.
- Oversee the preparation, implementation and maintenance of procurement and contract administration documentation, systems and plans for a program of works during all phases of projects.
- Coordinate the collection of data and other contract information in responding to regular and ad hoc reporting requests.
- Lead the implementation of strategic commercial initiatives across VIDA Rail.
This is a 3-year fixed term position, paying a salary between $138,631 - $185,518 plus superannuation with hybrid working arrangement (a mix of office and home/remote based working).

Let’s get technical – what skills do we expect you to have?
- Demonstrated experience (7+ years’) in managing, administering complex infrastructure or construction projects.
- Demonstrated understanding and extensive experience in managing commercial and contractual issues during all stages of the project life cycle.
- Demonstrated ability to develop complex procurement documentation and written briefs to senior executives, government or boards.
- Experience in alliance contracting is preferred
- A degree in law, commerce, economics, business, management, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
