Why we need you
We are seeking two Road Crew Supervisors to join our team in the Main Roads Bunbury office, located in the South West Region. These positions present a unique opportunity for qualified and experienced Crew Leaders to join our team and supervise the delivery of road works crews.
You will ensure that works are undertaken in accordance with technical specifications and worksite safety aspects and also undertake surveillance of contracted works. This role requires supervisory experience in road construction, rehabilitation, surfacing works and drainage systems; and management of traffic; management of incidents and emergency responses as required.
To be successful you will have leadership experience:
- In supervising, guiding and motivating crews in supporting performance and promoting a cohesive team culture
- In road construction and/or maintenance
- In pavement construction, bituminous surfacing and asphalting processes and techniques
- As a highly motivated individual who thrives on a challenge
- As a good communicator with an ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and service authorities.

Submitting Your Application
Please submit the following as part of your application:
- A copy of your current Western Australian ‘C’ Class (car) motor vehicle drivers’ licence for a period of 2 years, or “MR” class (medium rigid truck) for a period of 1 year, or an approved equivalent.
- If applicable to you, a copy of your current Western Australian ‘HR’ Class (heavy rigid truck) or ‘MR’ class (medium rigid truck), or ‘HC’ class ( heavy combination -truck + single trailer) motor vehicle drivers’ licence or an approved equivalent, or willingness to obtain within 6 months of appointment.
- If applicable to you, evidence of your Diploma in Civil Construction and/or Maintenance.
- If applicable to you, evidence of your Senior First Aid Certificate, Construction Safety Awareness (White Card) or willingness to obtain within 6 months of appointment.
- If applicable to you, evidence of Worksite Traffic Management (WTM) Accreditation.
- A detailed CV demonstrating your skills and abilities within the context of the Job Role Statement.
A statement addressing the following three (3) criteria on no more than three (3) pages
Your sound skill, knowledge, and experience in:
- Road construction and/or maintenance, including materials selection for construction and/or maintenance purposes.
- Pavement construction, bituminous surfacing and asphalting processes and techniques.
- Worksite supervision, including the supervision of employee behaviour, performance, and development.
