About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Procurement team as a Procurement Advisor. In this role you will support the Procurement Operations and Systems Manager to deliver a world class Procurement user experience for Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) that makes it safer, faster and cheaper to buy a diverse range of products and services.

This role will provide exceptional customer service, ownership of policy and process. You will be the first point of contact for business or supplier issues for requisitions, ordering, receipting, receiving, contracting, prequalification requirements to deliver an efficient and agile method of procuring. In addition, you will be part of a supportive team who are focused on collaborating with each other and helping you achieve your career aspirations.

This is a fixed term opportunity until June 2027.

About the Role

As the Procurement Advisor, you will:

  • Act as Centre of Excellence for Source to Pay; build and maintain working relationships with the users to promote a best-in-class procurement culture for MTM
  • Action New Supplier requests and ongoing prequalification requirements
  • Train and educate users on systems, Procurement policy and associated processes
  • Ensure all correspondence, including emails and letters, are reviewed, escalated and filed as needed
  • Provide suggestions and process improvements to improve the user experience or operational efficiency

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Secondary School qualifications (Tertiary qualifications preferred)
  • Demonstrable Experience with
    • using Procurement Systems
    • SAP Ariba (preferred)
    • Microsoft – Excel, Word, Powerpoint
    • Preparing and delivering user training across multiple media formats
  • Strong Customer Service, communication and interpersonal skills
  • A can-do problem-solving mindset and personal pride and accountability for your work
