Metro Trains Melbourne is looking for our next group of trainees who are eager to start an exciting career with Metro Trains as a Trainee Train Driver. Train drivers perform an important front-line role within Metro Trains Melbourne operating and working over a 24/7 rotating roster. As a member of Train Services, our Train Drivers perform duties that are both stimulating and challenging whilst providing a high reward. Employment begins with 44-weeks paid training with our Metro Academy.
We are looking for motivated and energetic individuals who:
- Have a strong aptitude for learning as well as self-discipline to follow an intensive study schedule
- Can commit to full time working during the training period
- Are committed to Safety and Zero harm
- Understand the importance of policies and procedures
- Have a passenger focus and are passionate about delivering great service
- Have effective analytical and problem-solving skills
- Are great communicators
- Enjoy being part of a wider team and are also happy working independently
- Are available to work shifts outside normal working hours, including weekends and public holidays
As a Trainee Train Driver, your main priority will be to learn how to operate a variety of MTM’s trains in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner across the Metro network.
Upon successful completion of the traineeship, you will be required to work in a full-time capacity at one the following Depots based on business needs:
- Flinders Street
- North Melbourne
- Broadmeadows
- Calder Park
- Camberwell
- Dandenong
- Frankston
- Mordialloc
- Upfield
- Ringwood
**Successful candidates will need to live within a reasonable location from one or more of these Depots**
