This is your chance to be part of an organization working on multiple projects in Victoria’s Big Build which is delivering 165 major road and rail projects, including Metro Tunnel, a second underground railway for Melbourne with 5 new stations, removal of 85 level crossings across Melbourne and the Melbourne Airport Rail.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) are currently looking for a GIS Lead (Geographical Information Systems) to drive and support the ongoing management and continued development of Metro’s enterprise GIS platform and spatial analysis capabilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Influence and guide the strategic roadmap for GIS
- Support the management and continued development of Metro’s enterprise GIS platform by delivering new capabilities according to the strategic roadmap for GIS.
- Contribute to the development of continued innovation in the use of GIS by the business including the application of new technologies and practices in 2D and 3D visualisation, data collection, analytics and Digital Engineering.
- Gather information on GIS and Digital Engineering practices and analyse to determine solutions and make recommendations.
- Provide business support, training and consultancy for users of spatial systems.
- Support, and as required liaise, with DoT to ensure PASS Assets is developed to meet the needs of MTM's requirements in the GIS domain
ABOUT YOU
- In-depth hands-on experience in the development and administration of enterprise GIS applications.
- Substantial experience in the Esri ArcGIS technology stack (particularly ArcGIS Enterprise), Geocortex (Essentials and Workflow 5) and FME.
- Substantial experience in the application of Python for automating business processes and workflows.
- Substantial experience in JavaScript (including the ArcGIS API for JavaScript) and Geocortex TypeScript.
- Experience with managing complex 2D and 3D spatial datasets.
- Strong understanding of spatial systems including mobility, GNSS, aerial imagery and LiDAR data collection.
