Position purpose
Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM), operating, maintaining, and transforming part of Victoria’s rail network are seeking a People Business Partner on a 12-month maximum term basis to support our Operations and Passenger Delivery Division.

About the role
The People Business Partner will enable sustainable business performance through strong business and people partnering with client areas within Metro, supporting the full employee lifecycle. This role is an active member of the respective leadership teams and works closely in support of the respective Senior Leader/s in an advisory capacity.
Key areas of responsibility
The primary focus of the role is to:
- Build the capability of people managers with employee relations matters such as disciplinary matters, grievances, investigations, and employee exits to mitigate the financial, legal, and reputational risk to Metro
- Coach and equip managers with the appropriate knowledge to effectively lead and manage their teams
- Collaborate with the Senior Business Partner and Head of People to contribute to the development and execution of the Operations & Passenger Delivery Division’s People Plan
- Senior Stakeholder Engagement across both portfolio and MTM Enterprise-wide
- Support business transformations by delivering the appropriate organisational designs and implementations to enhance business performance and effectiveness
About you
- Experience and strong knowledge of dealing with IR/ER matters (essential)
- Extensive experience working within a People business partnership model
- Proven solid experience working with and influencing senior stakeholders
- Passionate about people and being able to influence and affect long-lasting change
