The Metro Tunnel Project (MTP) is a transformational public transport project that will bring more trains to your suburb and reduce travel times by running the busy Cranbourne, Pakenham and Sunbury lines through a new tunnel. By untangling the City Loop, more trains can run more often across Melbourne.
We’ve finished digging twin 9km tunnels, and construction is underway on 5 new stations and testing of the new High Capacity Signalling system that will enable turn-up-and-go services.
Metro Tunnel Project has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Configuration Management Engineer to join the MTP Team.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Configuration Management Engineer to join the Rail Network Alliance. You’ll be responsible for planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of configuration management activities in accordance with the Project’s configuration management plan and relevant standards.
The Configuration Management Engineer maintains the integrity of the project’s configuration, including hardware, software and documentation, through all of it’s phases, as change is required.
This role is a fulltime, permanent. As an MTM employee, you will have access to free travel along the network.
Responsibilities
- You’ll lead the planning and definition of the Project’s configuration management (CM) activities.
- Coordinate with the various product owners, as well as internal and external stakeholders to identify and plan the configuration management activities.
- Work collaboratively with the various product owners to deliver the configuration management activities in accordance with the configuration plan and project program.
- Ensure the wider project team are adequately supported to understand, plan and deliver the Configuration Management functions, including attending meetings and preparing, delivering and maintaining appropriate guidance, training and tools.
- Maintain the configuration management database provide accurate information to stakeholders at any given time in project lifecycle.
- Monitor, review and audit the implementation of the Project‘s Configuration Management Plan
About You
- 4+ years’ experience in Engineering, Rail, Project Management and Construction
- Tertiary qualification in engineering or equivalent
- Experience within Victorian Rail Projects preferred but not essential
- Experience in a railway system operational or design environment 3 to 4 years’ experience with stakeholder engagement across multi - disciplinary organisations
- Working knowledge of Metro, its operations and stakeholders
