The Western Program Alliance is looking to fill a Site Engineer (Signaling) for work on our ongoing Level Crossing Removal Projects across Victoria.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for providing specialist advice and management services for the design, construction, testing and commission of signalling systems ensuring that the requirements of the project are delivered safely, within budget and fit for purpose.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Support in the coordination of Signalling construction activities within a live rail environment
- Support in the coordination of Signalling Testing and Commissioning activities during commissioning events
- Build and maintain strong relationships across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including supporting the coordination of contractors/suppliers
- Assist in the detailed planning for specific project activities, as assigned by the Project Manager
- Accountable for regularly monitoring of onsite signalling activities and reporting of progress against the project program
- Coordinate with site Supervisors in the management of onsite activities and interfacing with other disciplines
- Maintain a twelve week lookahead in line with the project baseline program to ensure safe working and access requirements have been established.
- Development of site delivery related documents such as SWMS, Works Packs/Activity Method Statements, Risk Assessments, others as required
- Leading site delivery-related collaboration with other project delivery partners and the Client to discover, record and resolve interface issues, actions, risks, and opportunities.
- Manages the development and submission of scoping documents and proposals assigned to the Project
- Discharge all responsibilities in a manner that ensures that the safety is not compromised during the life of the project, and safety of contractors and Metro employees is at the forefront of all project related activities
- Manage the receipt of design information and drawings
- Assess, review and monitor the design deliverable schedules, responses to RFI’s, designs and T&C Plan related documents
- Engagement of material suppliers in coordination with the project sourcing team
- Ensure successful delivery of the Signalling Design including its interfaces and integration with other subsystems
Your experience
- Tertiary qualification in engineering or equivalent
- 1 to 2 years’ experience in Engineering, Rail and Construction
- Working knowledge of Metro, its operations and stakeholders
