Rolling Stock are now seeking either a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to support the delivery of the X’Trapolis 2.0 project.

Position Overview

Support the delivery the integration of the new X’Trapolis 2.0 fleet onto the Melbourne suburban train network including any associated network enabling works (Depot & Training Facilities. Ensure the X’Trapolis 2.0 program of works comply with Metro’s governance requirements and support the delivery of the enabling work packages to ensure delivery of scope on time and within budget.

Included in this is the development and maintenance of the project schedule as well as preparing regular project review documentation and present to project management.

This role is offered as a 23-month Max Term position based out of Metro Trains Docklands Head-office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of the program work streams and packages through the provision of high quality PMO support.
  • Ensure the new train program and child projects compliance with business & project governance structure
  • Maintain effective control of project budget and program schedule keeping all stakeholders informed.
  • Support the delivery of the program work streams and packages through the provision of high quality PMO support.
  • Liaise with DoT / client representatives to foster strong relationships and partnering.
  • Prepare regular project review documentation and present to project management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in project management, engineering or equivalent
  • 10+ years’ experience in Engineering, Rail, Project Management and Rolling Stock
  • 2+ years leading and managing a large team, contractors and consultants
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement across multi - disciplinary organisations
  • Working knowledge of Metro, its operations and stakeholders
