As the Level Crossing Removal Project continues to deliver a safer and more efficient train network, the Metro team involved in this large-scale project is expanding to respond to current and future works. Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) currently have a vacancy for a Completions Engineer to support current & future Level Crossing Removal Projects as art of the Metro Level Crossing Removal team (MLXRT).
As the Completions Engineer you will support the completion and integrity of asset information to ensure that gain share is maximised, and that asset handover is safe, compliant and integrates with the network in accordance with Metro’s requirements in support of Victoria’s ‘Big Build’ Infrastructure Program. This role protects the integrity of asset information & records coming into Metro’s Asset Management System and DoT’s DMS and PASS systems through conducting quality assurance of data provided by projects.
This position is offered as full time permanent, based from our head office in the CBD with a requirements to work from one of our project sites/offices as and when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet completions process deliverables as set by the Project or Program Proposal / Project Brief in accordance with MTM’s Franchise Agreement and relevant aspects of the applicable project management framework across the project life cycle.
- Advise and support the Project/Program Managers to achieve completions obligations for the project/package. Define applicable aspects of Metro’s Project Management Framework (PMF) during planning stage of the project to ensure the PMF is followed.
- Identify, resolve and perform complex technical project management operations.
- Identify and resolve process and operational issues with relevant stakeholders to ensure project Integration can be accomplished to agreed performance characteristics.
- Ensure contractors and/or delivery partners provide completions artefacts to agreed standard
- Provide training/support to contractors to achieve MTM/DOT completion requirements
- Ensure adherence to all legislative and regulatory requirements as well as internal processes and guidelines.
- Manage a variety of internal stakeholder groups to coordinate the close out of completions deliverables within agreed timeframes, the collection and collation of asset data, issue resolution
- Assist management with the closeout of legacy projects, with a focus on legacy asset data
About You:
- Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering or Construction Management
- 2 – 3 years Completion’s experience in a construction environment
- Experience and knowledge in reading/interpreting construction/as-built drawings
- Understanding of asset management
- Good attention to detail and the ability to assess functional specifications for compliance
- Demonstrated experience of working with a high level of accuracy and ability to adhere to tight timeframes
- Strong communication skills when dealing with internal/external stakeholders
