Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) have a vacancy for a Senior As-Built Review Engineer to support current & future Level Crossing Removal Projects as part of the Metro Level Crossing Removal team (MLXRT). The MLXRT As-Built Review team ensures that MTM can demonstrate Effective Control and Management of its requirements under the SMS and Accreditation
The Senior As-Built Review Engineer is responsible for the provision of effective and timely review services including of As-Built drawings submitted by Major Project in accordance with Projects Completions Procedure. This role leads a team responsible for the review stage inclusive of drawing submissions and approval status to DMS (Drawing Management Systems). This role will coordinate the As-Built review process and Department of Transport (DOT) Infrastructure Drafting Standard compliance related matters with their teams and the Level Crossing Removal Alliances.
This position is offered as full time permanent, based from our head office in the CBD with a requirements to visit project sites/offices as and when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team that is responsible for advising and supporting the Project/Program Managers in achieving As-Built obligations for the project/package.
- Collaborate with the Completions Manager, Design Review Managers and Document Controllers to ensure timely review of design packages, and Requests For Information (RFI).
- Collaborate with the Document Control team to ensure timely submission of As Built drawings into DMS.
- Undertake quality and performance analysis and prepare status reports using Excel based on data from Team binder, project Design Lot Registers (DLR), As Built programs, LXRP programs, forecast information, and Comment Review Sheets (CRS).
- Responsible for preparation and management of budgets for design reviews, and prepare regular financial status reports;
- Collaborate with Design Review Managers and Engineers, and As-Builts Review Manager to prepare and expedite the clearance of review comments;
- Manage As-Built and DOT Infrastructure Drafting Standard compliance reviews in accordance with MTM's agreed processes.
- Plan, organize and monitor assigned review tasks to ensure their completion on time and good quality.
- Oversee and ensure MTM design and DOT drafting standards are maintained and conform to applicable safety, reliability, and quality standards.
- Represent MTM at meetings with clients, chair and/or present status reports at relevant meetings;
- Develop and maintain efficient/effective relationship with all stakeholders, internal and external;
- Management of stakeholders (internal & external) on critical issues affecting the project, and obtain agreement on the most appropriate course of action that meets the pre-determined objectives;
- Lead and support initiatives to identify work practices, methods and activities that could be amended and improved;
- Report frequently on the progress of all issues regarding the assigned tasks and promptly notify necessary management of any matters which could have a material adverse effect on project or the business
About You:
- Tertiary qualification in engineering or equivalent
- Experienced in Leading & Management of teams
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Engineering, Rail, Project Management and/or Construction
- Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience working within As-Built Review
- Experience of engagement across multi - disciplinary organisations and stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate for key outcomes through strong stakeholder management with a variety of complex stakeholders
