Position Purpose Statement
We are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our Finance & Commercial team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, Rolling Stock, this role will partner with the General Manager, Rolling Stock, the Head of Finance & Commercial to drive financial outcomes and performance.

About the role
Key responsibilities of the Finance Business Partner include:
- Preparing month-end reports, profit and loss accounts, divisional accounts, EBIT reconciliation, variance analysis and commentaries.
- Oversee all financial reports & provide analytical insight on Rolling Stock performance to managers.
- Business partnering with the budget holders to educate and monitor budgets and provide support to budget holders in developing and monitoring business plans and costs.
- Supporting the preparation and validation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts & projections (including long-term forecast plans)
- Maintaining strong relationships with peers in the Procurement (Supplier Tenders), Commercial (Deriving Value) and Partner Performance (Contractual Operationalisation) teams to ensure Finance has an effective seat at the table.
- Undertaking special projects/tasks as needed for the Financial Controller Rolling Stock.
- Participating in the improvement of the company’s financial policies, procedures and processes and adherence to the company’s policies and guidelines.
Qualification, Skills, and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or Business
- CA/CPA/IIBA (or equivalent) status.
- Extensive experience within Finance Manager/Finance Business Partnering roles.
- Demonstrated experience working with Senior Stakeholders, with an ability to present complex data and information clearly and directly
- Experience in the preparation and collation of professional communication materials (business cases, position papers, formal written correspondence) and financial information.
- An ability to negotiate, persuade and influence opinions.
