As the Level Crossing Removal Project continues to deliver a safer and more efficient train network, the Metro team involved in this large-scale project is expanding to respond to current and future works. Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) are now recruiting for a Project Procurement Officer to support current and future projects as part of the South Eastern Program Alliance (SEPA) working on the Level Crossing Removal Project.
Your role will be responsible for the Purchasing / Procurement of goods & materials according to specified quantity, quality and cost requirements, delivered within given timeframes in line with current policies and procedures. You will also act as a primary point of contact to the Projects team for procurement of material related questions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support in project pricing development stage as needed by the estimating team and manager.
- Create & Raise requisitions for Goods or Services
- Issue and administer Tenders for supply of specialist equipment & materials
- Raise Recommendations & secure Letting Approvals.
- Maintain materials procurement tracker including expected onsite and delivery dates
- Ensure materials are onsite prior to works
- Negotiate alternative arrangements when unforeseen supply issues arise.
- Engage & work with stakeholders across the team, division and broader organisation ensuring that beneficial relationships are developed and maintained.
- Provide timely and accurate advice to stakeholders and ensure issues are resolved promptly. Follow up on Requests for Quotation and orders to ensure timely arrival onsite, ensuring no risk to the project delivery.
About You:
- Formal studies in Procurement / Purchasing practices are desirable
- Demonstrated procurement or purchasing experience
- Ability to build and foster strong stakeholder relationships
- Ability to analyse data and write and present reports, undertake and complete complex tasks
- Demonstrate a high degree of ingenuity and initiative, strong attention to detail
- Knowledge and experience using computer based supply systems, SAP Ariba (advantageous)
- Ability to interpret customer specifications and requirements
