ABOUT THE ROLE
This Senior Manager leads the Operational Technology (Support Services) Team in Metro Trains’ and is responsible for the provision of the Planning and Design and Engineering Assurance service delivery to the OCMS area. These teams are vital to both the early design and planning phase as well as the detailed design and completions assurance phases of all OCMS renewals and project activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing strategic input, planning and leadership to the Head of OT to produce, systemise and implement a standardised operating model and processes across the support services teams including budgeting, forecasting and resource and capacity planning and management
- Lead high performing teams of technical and engineering experts ensuring design, completions, waivers and standards are delivered within required timeframes to meet project and OCMS business demands
- Enhance and grow the capability and capacity of the team and actively seek out, scope, cost and bid for rail related design packages whilst delivering the internal deliverables for the escrow renewals projects
- Ensure OCMS Engineering Assurance activities are actively managed and delivered to required timeframes and interface and lead OCMS outcomes within the broader MTM engineering assurance frameworks and processes
- Provide input and guidance into MTM standards changes and updates, utilising feedback from the broader OT teams on improvement areas to drive continued safe and maintenance efficient outcomes
- Develop and implement processes to manage resource demand to ensure efficient utilisation, commitments are met (including project budget resource recovery), and any deficits are identified and mitigated accordingly
- Provide governance and operational contract management for all support, maintenance and service contracts for their area
ABOUT YOU
- 10+ years experience within a relevant industry (rail, utilities, mining, transport, offshore, oil & gas, energy, critical infrastructure, etc) within the planning/design and/or engineering assurance areas
- Tertiary qualifications in Design, or Engineering with aa focus on the Operational Technology area
- Demonstrated ability to implement appropriate and fit for purpose systems and processes to ensure project pipeline resourcing is forward planned and deliverable timeframes achieved
- Ensuring relevant teams are engaged to collect and consolidate as built data information to finalise project completion and asset system updates
- Demonstrated experience following safety in design processes
- Demonstrated experience or knowledge in identifying and analysing design risks, and make corrective actions
- Knowledge of business, operating and financial models, as well as cost-benefit analysis, budgeting and risk management
