The Sourcing and Category Manager – Corporate will play a pivotal role in developing and embedding category management and strategic sourcing to deliver ongoing cost savings and a high level of procurement service delivery.
Reporting to the Head of Sourcing and Category Management, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the way we work and take ownership of enhancing and implementing the procurement category management capability, procedures, frameworks, and policies, that will set the team up for success.
Experience in indirect categories including HR & People Services, Safety, Marketing, Professional services will be an advantage.

About the Role:
As the Sourcing and Category Manager, you will:
- Work with the Finance & Commercial business partners and Divisional General Managers to develop and maintain relationships with key business owners of spend categories
- Develop procurement strategies to manage goods/services consistent with overall company sourcing goals and objectives
- Establish business requirements/ specifications and identify supplier base with input from internal customers and develop effective sourcing strategies
- Constantly monitor supplier market and identify opportunities resulting from new product offerings and/or market shifts (e.g., entry/exit of suppliers, pricing changes)
- Develop RFI’s/RFPs, lead negotiations with suppliers and implement contractual arrangements with selected suppliers
- Identify opportunities to support Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) commitments and build social procurement strategies into the supply chain

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Extensive experience across Procurement/Supply Chain in a similar role
- Demonstrated category management experience ideally within HR, Safety, People, Marketing, Professional Services or other indirect categories
- Proven ability to identify and deliver total cost reduction and efficiency opportunities through tender development and management, and other procurement events
- A deep understanding of procurement methodologies as applied within a category management framework.
- Strong, demonstrated experience in partnering with line management in gaining significant cost savings through innovative procurement practices.
- Demonstrated internal stakeholder management skills
- Relevant tertiary qualifications within the areas of Business, Finance or similar
- Experience in the transport/rail industry vehicles an advantage but not essential
