About the role:
As our Signalling Team continues to expand with the introduction of high-capacity Metro Trains, we’re seeking motivated, pro-active, and enthusiastic qualified Officers In Charge to perform reactive and preventative maintenance tasks across our diverse network.

Embracing change and demonstrating leadership skills should be at the forefront of your mind, as you’ll be driving performance through efficient use of recourses and commitment to quality outcomes.

You’ll be overseeing the installation, repair and modifications of signalling equipment and associated infrastructure, and will be joining MTM at an exciting time as we expand and integrate more new and exciting projects, such as the Metro Tunnel Project!

Please note: Only qualified Officers will be considered for this role.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Support engineers and contractors in testing and commissioning following maintenance renewal activities, configuration changes, improving maintenance standards and provision of new installations.

  • Adherence to all legislative and regulatory requirements.

  • Support the achievement of Balance Scorecard objectives.

  • Monitor the departments performance with regards to failures and train running statistics.

  • Allocate staff and material resources to achieve effective maintenance outcomes to accord with defined standards and within scheduled cycles within the group.

  • Assist in inspections and achievement of maintenance targets for the whole system within the group or as directed.

  • Supervise staff activities and administer staff roster, attending and timekeeping.

  • Ensure the work environment, practices and activities adhere to the quality system and environmental requirements.

  • Attend incidents and take charge of resources, investigations and rectifications pending arrival of the Group Supervisor or another Senior Officer.

  • Maintain and update stores, circuit plans, maintenance manuals and instructions held at the Group.

  • Prepare and forward incident, technical and administration reports.

  • Provide advice to senior management regarding to the adequacy and frequency of maintenance of all signalling assets.

About you:

  • Diploma In Railway Signalling or equivalent – mandatory.

  • Track Force Protection Coordinator 3.1.

  • First Aid and CPR certified.

  • Sound experience of train operating rules/procedures in relation to the functioning of signalling infrastructure.

  • Extensive knowledge and skills necessary to carry out a diverse range of technical duties within the Signals Maintenance Group.
