About the Role:
As an Engineering Standards Specialist in the Track and Structures team, you will work with specialists in the Architectural, Building Services, Fire Engineering, Structures, and Track and Civil disciplines. You will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining our engineering standards and specifications, ensuring they align with industry regulations and best practices. Your expertise will be crucial in guaranteeing MTM operational and maintenance requirements are accurately captured, as well as ensuring new technologies and industry innovations are documented to assist efficient delivery of the Victorian Government’s Big Build program.
Your Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with our engineering teams, project managers, and maintenance personnel to identify and address any engineering standards-related challenges.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive engineering standards and specifications that comply with industry regulations, setting new benchmarks for excellence.
- Maintain the Engineering Standards issues register to ensure that results of Engineering Waivers, internal and external feedback, and lessons learned are captured in updated Engineering Standards.
- Keep a keen eye on industry trends, advancements, and regulatory changes to ensure Metro Trains Melbourne remains at the forefront of engineering standards.
- Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement by initiating and leading initiatives to enhance engineering processes and practices.
About you:
- You hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Your track record includes proven experience in developing and implementing engineering standards and specifications.
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Your analytical and problem-solving skills are exceptional, enabling you to critically assess complex engineering systems and processes.
- Your communication and interpersonal skills are outstanding, enabling you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- You are meticulously detail-oriented and possess exceptional organisational skills, ensuring accuracy and precision in your work.
- Your ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines shines even in the face of a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools is an advantage, showcasing your versatility.
