About the position:
As Track Force Protection Coordinator in the Infrastructure – Signals team, you’ll play an integral role by being at the forefront of safety, assisting our teams to access the rail corridor to inspect and maintain the signalling assets in our network, ensuring adherence to all safeworking requirements.
You’ll be exposed to different works within our network, playing a fundamental part in our business by supporting safeworking planning and implementation to maximise rail safety, time on tools, whilst also minimising impact on rail operations. Working for Metro will also give you the opportunity to develop and grow in your career in rail as we provide all opportunities for upskilling and learning through the Metro Academy.
We have multiple positions available; predominately working day shift on a Monday to Friday roster, with the potential for overtime on the weekends.
Main duties include:
- Assist Safeworking resources as they plan track access, for the safe and effective delivery of routine and reactive maintenance, with opportunities to support renewals, or upgrades of railway assets.
- Implement Safeworking plans to maximise rail safety, and minimise impact on rail operations.
- Support management by providing Safeworking planning advice that improves productivity.
- Ensure adherence to all legislative and regulation requirements, ensuring Metro staff and contractors apply correct Safeworking methods in the field.
- Participate in investigations of accidents and safety incidents as they pertain to Metro’s infrastructure.
About you:
- Minimum 3.1 Safeworking qualification – essential.
- Valid Victorian driver’s license.
- Demonstrated Rail Operational Safeworking experience.
- Team player who works effectively in a group environment with workgroups and other Safeworkers.
- Strong communication skills, in order to excel in high pressure situations
