About the position:
As our Structures Inspector, you’ll plan and safely carry out inspections and investigations of structures across the MTM network, capturing asset condition data which will then inform reactive maintenance and renewals programs.
You’ll complete visual inspections of our structural assets, working to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our network by championing attention to detail, efficiency, and communication, relying on blend of pragmatism and teamwork to make quality of work and safety your key focus.
This position will have ongoing Monday-Friday 7.5 hour shifts, and will require your flexibility for ad hoc night shifts and overtime as required.
Main duties include:
- Complete Visual inspections of structural assets in a safe and timely manner.
- Accurately capture and convey information, such as inspection reports, defect and fault reporting, incident reporting, access requests and planning.
- Plan inspections in co-ordination with the Production Manager and Technical Leads, prioritising works and optimising time on track.
- Plan and conduct inspections through asset data systems such as GIS.
- Ensure all input into asset management systems is accurate/competed in a timely manner.
- Adhere to the Technical Maintenance Plan frequencies and inspection schedules, ensuring compliance and zero overdue Prescribed Preventative Maintenance tasks.
About you:
- Experience as an inspector or maintainer in a relevant field – mandatory.
- Understanding of structures and its condition assessment by visual inspection for identification of critical maintenance and safety issues.
- Planning/scheduling skills, with ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Understanding of operational railway and safe working practices.
- Good report writing and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient on MS Suite, with experience using GIS and asset management systems.
- Current Australian driver’s licence, with ability to drive manual.
