About the team

Corporate Services teams at Metro are responsible for providing essential support services that enable the business to function efficiently and effectively. From Safety and People, Marketing and Communication, to Finance and Legal, and IT. Our Corporate Services teams work collaboratively to ensure that the business operates smoothly and as one team.

About the role

As a key member of the Leadership team, the Finance Planning & Analysis Manager will lead the preparation and submission of Metro Trains Melbourne’s (MTM’s) monthly management reporting, shareholder reporting and Board reporting. This role will also guide the development and maintenance of a rolling forecast supported by a financial model comprising P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash flow.

• Lead the preparation and submission of MTM’s monthly management reporting, shareholder reporting and Board reporting
• Lead the development of best in class forecast financial models for the franchise period
• Lead the monthly update of the assumptions underpinning the financial models to reflect an up-to-date forecast
• Management of the annual budgeting process
• Management of the quarterly forecasting submission to management and shareholders
• Management of the long-term financial planning process
• Analytics and decision-support as required

About you

You are a focused individual who has:

• Significant relevant professional experience in a Finance Planning & Analysis leadership role for a large, complex organisation.
• Strong interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills, combined with high attention to detail
• The ability to juggle competing demands and work in a dynamic environment
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with an ability to clearly communicate complex business issues to Executives
• Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
