About the team
Corporate Services teams at Metro are responsible for providing essential support services that enable the business to function efficiently and effectively. From Safety and People, Marketing and Communication, to Finance and Legal, and IT. Our Corporate Services teams work collaboratively to ensure that the business operates smoothly and as one team.
About the role
As the Financial Reporting Team Leader, you will partner with the business to provide financial support and enhanced decision-making to improve business issues.
- Lead, coach, and mentor direct reports.
- Assist the Financial Reporting Manager with commentary for reporting.
- Have accountability for financial management of external/agency works including reporting on monthly profitability and financial performance.
- Ensure audit queries are responded to in a timely manner, including compliance audits by Department of Transport.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Implement and improve the company's financial policies, procedures and processes as required.
About you
You are a collaborative individual who has:
- Relevant qualifications in Business or Accounting (Essential).
- CPA/CA qualifications or working towards.
- Experience and knowledge of key accounting concepts, financial management, financial reporting systems, management information systems.
- Experience in the preparation and collation of financial information.
- Ability to analyse data and write and present reports, undertake and complete complex tasks and utilise reporting software.
- Ability to communicate to staff at all levels (verbal & written)
- Previous leadership experience with an ability to lead and mentor a team.
