About the role

As the Communications Coordinator you will lead engagement to support the Projects Communications team within the Southern Program Alliance (SPA) to engage with rail passengers on specific packages of work / projects to create awareness about project impacts and benefits.

You will assist the team working collaboratively and building strong relationships with delivery partners and Metro Trains’ employees, key government clients and other transport operators to minimise and mitigate any project impacts on rail passengers and local communities.

 

Please note this role is a 12 month maximum term opportunity.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

 

  • Collaborate to plan, develop, obtain approval for and distribute all Metro Trains’ project communications collateral (e.g. flyers, newsletters, posters, decals, bus hangers, postcards, signage, notification letters and more)
  • Work with the Senior Communication Advisor to develop and implement customer communications plans for rail occupations and associated construction impacts, station and car park impacts, and rail customer relations strategies
  • Accountable for customer feedback and enquires
  • Assist with the coordination of coffee mornings, information sessions and passenger/staff-specific activities at railway stations in consultation with the Victoria Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA), Department of Transport and Planning (DTP), communications managers and coordinate site tours for Metro Trains

 

About You

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing, public relations, communications or equivalent field would be preferred
  • Experience developing communications plans, marketing materials and events.
  • Proven ability to deliver a range of communications materials for different audiences
  • Strong Stakeholder experience both internal and external
  • Ability to schedule work priorities to ensure deadlines are strictly adhered to with the ability to negotiate outcomes
