What MinRes can offer

  • A dynamic and global leader with cutting edge innovation.
  • Investment opportunities with the MinRes MyShare plan.
  • Access to a range of benefits to look after the important things in life – family, health, fun and your future.

The Opportunity
The Marine Electrical Superintendent is a critical senior leadership role that is pivotal to ensuring our marine fleet operates safely, efficiently and without interruption.

As the Marine Electrical Superintendent, you will serve as the Perth-based technical authority responsible for ensuring the integrity, reliability and compliance of electrical systems across our entire marine fleet.

You will provide strategic direction and governance across all electrical disciplines — including propulsion, power generation, navigation, communication and material handling — while directly line managing onsite Electrical Supervisors and acting as the primary point of escalation for all marine electrical matters across the fleet.

This role is on a Monday – Friday work roster from our Head Office in Osborne Park.

Key responsibilities:

  • Monitor and govern planned maintenance schedules, open defects and corrective actions across all fleet vessels via the planned maintenance system (Helm), ensuring tasks are tracked, prioritised and closed out in a timely and compliant manner
  • Coordinate with Electrical Supervisors to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime across all marine assets
  • Act as the primary technical point of escalation for complex or high-risk electrical issues, including — but not limited to — propulsion, power generation, navigation, communication/control systems and materials handling equipment
  • Ensure all electrical activities comply with company policies and applicable Australian electrical licensing and legislative obligations
  • Review and maintain electrical maintenance procedures, technical notices and best practice guidance to drive consistent standards and safe outcomes across the fleet
  • Review and approve electrical repair scopes, technical project plans and engineering change proposals for all vessel electrical modifications
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and technical guidance to Supervisors and onsite electrical personnel, building both technical competence and leadership capability across the team

What’s required?
Our ideal candidate will have previous demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally within the mining industry.

  • Electrical Trade Certificate (required)
  • WA Electrical Licence (required)
  • ETO Certificate of Competency III/6 (desirable)
  • Advanced Trade Qualifications — Diploma / Advanced Diploma (desirable)
  • Frontline or Senior Management Qualifications e.g. Certificate IV in Leadership (desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience in a technical, engineering or superintendent role within the marine industry
  • Advanced knowledge of PLC, VFD and automation systems
  • Experience with marine propulsion systems
  • Experience in power generation and power management systems
  • Familiarity with marine class societies (ABS) and the National Standard for Commercial Vessels (NSCV)
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation and Australian Standards (AS3000, AS3004)
  • Self-motivated and adaptable with strong time management skills
  • Relentless focus on safety and attention to detail
  • A natural problem solver who leads by example
  • Team-oriented with the ability to operate autonomously when required
