What you’ll be doing

  • Provide strategic leadership for MinRes’ heritage management across projects, operations and exploration activities.
  • Develop, implement and maintain cultural heritage management frameworks aligned with legislation, regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of heritage surveys, assessments, approvals, field activities and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, agreement-based and reporting obligations.
  • Embed effective processes to identify, protect and manage heritage values throughout project planning, approvals and operational delivery.
  • Lead heritage incident management, assurance activities and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee heritage information systems, including geospatial data, heritage reports and records, ensuring information is accurate, accessible and appropriately managed.
  • Provide clear, timely and practical advice to senior leaders to support informed decision-making and heritage risk management.
  • Lead, coach and develop the heritage team, fostering accountability, capability, engagement and professional growth.
  • Build and maintain respectful, trust-based relationships with Traditional Owners, Native Title Parties and key internal and external stakeholders.

What you will bring

  • Tertiary Qualification in Archaeology, Anthropology, Cultural Heritage Management or a related discipline is highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience in cultural heritage management with significant exposure in the mining or resources industry.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with Traditional Owners, Native Title Parties and Aboriginal Corporations.
  • A strong record of developing and implementing strategic heritage management plans that support heritage outcomes and business objectives.
  • Sound understanding of heritage approvals, field programmes, compliance systems, governance, agreement obligations and reporting requirements.
  • Experience managing heritage information, including spatial data, heritage registers and technical reports.
  • The ability to identify emerging heritage risks and implement proactive, practical solutions.
