The Opportunity
Cultural heritage is central to how we operate on Country. MinRes is seeking a Principal Heritage - Governance, Compliance& Systems to be the senior technical authority on how MinRes governs it.
Reporting to directly to the Heritage Manager, you'll design, embed and continuously mature the procedures, processes and management systems that give MinRes a consistent, auditable and defensible approach to cultural heritage across all projects and operations. You'll also lead cultural heritage incident investigations and compliance reporting, and build safety management principles into a Heritage Safety Management System (HSMS).

What you’ll be doing
- Design, document and continuously improve MinRes' cultural heritage procedures and processes, so they are practical, auditable and aligned with legislative requirements
- Own and mature our heritage governance framework, including policies, standards, procedures and supporting documentation
- Lead the design and rollout of the Heritage Safety Management System (HSMS)
- Develop standardised templates and guidance for incident investigation, compliance reporting and field procedures
- Lead incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions
- Oversee accurate, timely and auditable compliance reporting for regulators and internal stakeholders
- Benchmark against industry and cross-sector best practice, and anticipate legislative and regulatory change
- Coach and train the Heritage team on new and updated processes and systems
- Build strong relationships across Environment& Heritage, Technical Services, site leadership, and with Aboriginal Corporations and Traditional Owners
What you will bring
- 5–7+ years' experience in cultural heritage management, with a significant portion in mining or resources
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and leading enterprise-level processes and management systems (e.g. safety, compliance or quality)
- Experience leading incident investigations and compliance reporting, ideally within a broader systems or governance role
- Proven track record developing governance frameworks that meet complex legislative and organisational requirements at scale
- Strong working knowledge of WA's Aboriginal heritage legislation and agreement frameworks
- Advanced degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Cultural Heritage Management or a related field- Highly Desirable
