About the role
An incredibly exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Drill & Blast Superintendent to join our Bald Hill mine, on a 4/3 roster from Perth.
As the Drill and Blast Superintendent, you will be responsible for providing support to the Technical Services functions. Reporting to the Mining Manager, the role will ensure compliance with all statuary requirements and provide leadership and direction to the support the onsite engineering function, including reporting, schedules, optimisation. Ensuring these functions completed in a timely, professional and safe manner.
In this position, you will:
- Oversee, manage and control Drill and Blast project outcomes with regards to safety, quality, performance and costs
- Monitor and make changes where required for the Drill and Blast resourcing requirements to meet the mine plan
- Responsible for the review of weekly and monthly reporting. Review and approve Drill and Blast operating schedules, plans and designs
- Carry out and report on the QA/QC of the Drill and Blast process
- Ensure on site planning meets supply chain requirements for tonnes and grade
Skills and qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a drill and blast open pit environment as a Superintendent
- Exposure to mining contract management
- Current Senior First Aid certificate
- Hold WA Unrestricted Quarry Manager’s ticket (desirable)
- Shot firers ticket
