The Role:

Our Asset Management team are currently looking for their next Maintenance Superintendent to join our Owned and Operated Wonmunna Iron Ore operations on an 8:6 roster. In this role you will be accountable for maintenance, improvement, proficiency and equipment usage across the Wonmunna project. This role reports into the Central Pilbara Maintenance Manager and is a key leadership role with the AMG Team.

Wonmunna Project which is located 80km north west of Newman and is one of two sites in our Central Pilbara operations.

Key responsibilities and duties but limited to:

  • Develop and implement strategies relating to MRL fleet towards the overall achievement of business unit objectives
  • Assess long term and short term opportunities, risks and trends and business opportunities
  • Selecting, developing and deploying maintenance personnel to ensure projects are completed in accordance with budgetary and quality requirements
  • Developing and controlling business unit budgets
  • Management and development of the business unit in a professional and profitable manner
  • Maintain appropriate manning levels and strategies to facilitate the achievement of the business unit’s objectives
  • Maintain respectful, effective, cohesive and reciprocal working relationships with all stakeholders both internal and external to MRL to ensure responsibilities, targets and results are successfully achieved.
  • Provide strong leadership that supports a high performance culture and models appropriate behaviours that will successfully deliver results.
  • Support, mentor and develop individuals in appropriate ways that develop trust, high levels of engagement and empowerment and enable individuals to provide their best efforts.

What you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering or related discipline
  • Section 26 qualification
  • Significant experience in leading and developing a large team and/or business unit in the Asset Management space
  • Demonstrated experience working with CAT, Komatsu and HITACHI equipment
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Asset Management principles and standards.
  • Excellent HSEQ awareness and leadership
  • Experience working within a leadership role within the mining industry
  • Understanding of Mines Safety & Inspection Act 1994
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Ability to work within a dynamic work environment
