The Opportunity

Positioned within Council’s Property & Assets department, this role will see you contributing to high-quality decision-making regarding Council-owned and/or managed properties by undertaking designated operational and statutory duties. You will be responsible for and have a key focus on the management of leases, licences, sales and acquisitions as well as all administrative matters relating to Council’s property portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing and providing options to optimise the use and return on Council’s property portfolio consistent with Council objectives.
  • Liaising with local sporting/community organisations in relation to leasing matters.
  • Implementing and administering leases, licences and other agreements ensuring Council’s interests are fully protected.
  • Ensure all property lease management documentation and data is accurately maintained and recorded.
  • Drafting reports and recommendations to the Executive Team and Council.
  • Ensuring timely collection of information including; financial reporting, insurance certificates and liquor licence permits.
  • Assisting with property sales and acquisitions in accordance with legislative requirements and Council policies.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in property management or a related discipline or relevant work experience in a property management environment.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of property theory, practices, guidelines and legislation and practical experience related to the functions and duties of the position.
  • Sound written and oral communication skills, including the ability to develop and present accurate and reliable information contained in reports and correspondence relating to all aspects of property management.
  • Ability to conduct thorough research and investigations into property matters, problem solving and demonstrated commitment and ability to achieve quality outcomes.
